hoping one day you'll make a dream last

red knitted dress republic / black washed denim jacket vintage / boots new look / nails: topshop suffuse

When I bought this dress in the Republic sale about a month ago, I had the intention to hide this in my closet until Autumn and then be pleasantly surprised at how I'd have something new to wear then. My my was I wrong. Just a quick question - London, why are you so freaking cold?! It seems as if the Bank Holiday Weekend of 'summer' we had has been and past, and left us with 11 degrees, windy, and rainy. Nice.

Saying that, I am a little bit glad. I liked the dress back in February when it was selling for £28 and I 'mhmmmmed' away and left it for a later time. It fits well, is nice and snuggly, and really is the epitome of Autumn for me. A British Autumn in May is on the cards, non?

recent charity shop buys

top originially from next, £2
tunic originally from topshop, £2
cardigan originally from h&m, £2

I love charity shop buys! They take a bit of searching here and there, and involve the odd disappointment regarding sizes ('this top is four sizes too big...could I still pull this off?!') But oh my, they are amazing. My shopping bag reached a total of £6, less than any of these would have been sold for originally. I'm most pleased with the Tosphop polka dot tunic, as I remember a couple years back they were selling it for £26ish. A saving of over £20 isn't half bad, eh? Shopping in the name of charity is perhaps my new favourite thing.

Have you found any inexpensive buys recently?

home is where the heart is

tweed look bomber jacket new look / navy and white striped jumper la redoute / petite indigo joni jeans topshop / black converses jd sports / plum satchel internacionale

So yesterday I popped around London with my parents, walking around the quiet streets of Bank in Central London, roamed around the Museum of London and then onto Spitalfields market. I didn't end up buying anything, I found the items to be way too overpriced however Mum left with a beautiful gothic brocade jacket. It was lovely, however the weather was still pretty cold and I think the heat has only started gently entering the UK as of today, which sucks a little considering it is the end of May. Yes, the end of May.

Onto other news, I have technically finished year eleven and after this week's half term I am on study leave, however I plan to go in everyday as I revise more efficiently at school. It was the last day everyone was together with the exception of results day in three months time, and then we're off to venture in our separate ways. I still have seven exams left, but am 10 down so stress-wise everything is currently under control. I hope everyone that is doing exams at the moment is feeling good, and best of luck for any exams you have left.

I cannot wait to get back into my blogging routine in the summer, I think I have a whopping eleven weeks off (crazy, oui) so to pass the time I plan to vent my energy into the blog. Expect outfit posts, reviews...the whole shebang.

hiatus & explanations...

Hiya!

It really has been too long. I think it's been three weeks since I last posted, and withdrawal symptoms are getting the better of me. As many other bloggers are doing at the moment, I'm taking a temporary break from blogging at the moment; my upcoming exams are definitely my priority and are vital for future jobs, university applications etc. As I am being told on a daily basis. My exams finish in mid-June and conclude with an eight week long summer so this definitely calls for a blog party...say what?! I really do miss posting - revision is driving me mad! On the positive side, in a month I will never have to think about eutrophication, equilibriums, osmosis, religious attitudes to stewardship, Lord of the Flies or the absolute mind mess that is circle theorems ever again. Ever. *happy dances*

I will hopefully post a few times in the next month but what can I say, bring on June 14th!
